The MTV Europe Music Awards hit Copenhagen at the Bella Center/Rådhuspladsen in 2006. The venue was made to feel like a VIP club with exclusive, intimate performances. The outside stage boasted a concert that featured The Killers, Keane and Snoop Dogg.

This year, Justin Timberlake played host for the event and opened the show with his tracks "SexyBack", "My Love" and "LoveStoned" and was awarded Best Male Act.

Rihanna performed "S.O.S."[1], Muse played "Starlight"[2] surrounded by lasers and P. Diddy paired up with Cassie for "Come to Me".

The list of presenters included Fat Joe, Timbaland and Moby. Kanye West invaded the stage when Justice vs. Simian went to collect the award for Best Video category. The rap star snatched the award declaring he was the rightful winner for his video "Touch the Sky"[3].

The event featured a PSYC[4][5] backstage video chat hosted by Juliette and the Licks[6][7][8] with guests such as Timbaland[9] and Tiziano Ferro[10].
